MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – After two delays caused by whiteout conditions, Akron and Central Michigan ended in a 4-4 tie after the umpires called the game in the fifth inning on Saturday afternoon in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
"Wish we could have held them to win in the fifth inning but the conditions were very tough," said head coach Julie Jones.
In the programs 40 years of existence, this is the 10th time that a game has ended in a draw and second since coach Jones has been at the helm of the Zips.
