AKRON, Ohio – The 2016 University of Akron softball team is predicted to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference East Division, according to a poll voted on by MAC coaches.
Miami (Ohio) was selected to finish first in the East, followed by Ohio, Kent State, and the Zips.
Central Michigan is the preseason favorite to win the MAC West division.
Kent State and Central Michigan tied in the preseason poll to win the MAC Championship. Ohio and Akron followed in the poll, each receiving votes to win the tournament. The MAC championship will be held at Akron's Firestone Stadium on May 11-14.
