Former Baylor QB Bryce Petty injures MCL

Ex-Baylor QB and current New York Jets back up, Bryce Petty, suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain Saturday night in a preseason matchup against the Giants.

After an MRI on Sunday, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that Petty had suffered damage to his MCL, but nothing to his ACL.

The injury occurred when teammate Ben Braden rolled onto it. Petty tried walking it off on the sideline, but felt his knee was "unstable." Last season, Petty also suffered through two shoulder surgeries, with the second one requiring surgery.

Petty, in his third season with the Jets, played in 6 games last year, starting 4.
