Elisabeth Tharp | Broadcast Reporter

After 12 years, the Baylor Equestrian team has a new head coach.

Ellen White, Baylor’s first ever equestrian head coach, announced her retirement in early June and on July 12th, Cassie Maxwell was announced as Baylor’s second head coach.

Cassie Maxwell rode for Texas A&M in 2001 to 2005 and was a student coach from 2005 to 2006. Maxwell was also the head coach for Kansas State’s Equestrian team from 2009 to 2016, and then served as the compliance specialist for her last year at Kansas State.

Practice has just begun for the equestrian team and Coach Maxwell is working hard to start working with the team.
