Soccer heads to Houston amidst tropical storm

Baylor soccer’s match with Rice has been moved up to 6 p.m. Thursday at Holloway Field in Houston as Tropical Storm Harvey is expected to bring torrential rains to the area.

The Bears (2-0-0) and Owls (1-1-0) were originally scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Friday before the coaches agreed to reschedule for safety reasons.

Baylor is currently scheduled to play Houston Baptist at 5 p.m. on Sunday, but the Bears will come back to Waco after the Rice game and assess the weather situation, according to an official press release.

Baylor is coming off a perfect opening weekend that saw it defeat the University of Louisiana-Lafayette 5-0 and escape with a 2-1 overtime victory over Wyoming.
