Sophomore quarterback Charlie Brewer's 2017 campaign appeared to be a strong enough case to enter this season as Baylor's unquestioned starter.
But he may not get the first snap in Saturday's season opener against Abilene Christian University at McLane Stadium.
In a Big 12 teleconference on Monday, Rhule made it clear that freshman Gerry Bohanon is a legitimate option and that the competition at quarterback has been one of the best things at training camp.
"I have a lot of confidence that Gerry can go out there and play at a high level. So we're going to play Gerry at some point," Rhule said.
