6-run Inning Hands Clemson Second Loss

Georgia Southern scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning, including a grand slam from leftfielder Sean White, as the Eagles stunned No. 8 Clemson, 6-1, Tuesday at SRP Park in North Augusta, S.C.

The loss snapped the Tigers’ seven-game win streak, which dated back to to a loss to South Carolina on Feb. 27.

Clemson’s lone run came in the in the bottom of the second inning when Tyler Lichtenberger hit his first home run as Tiger.

Georgia Southern pitching kept the Tigers at bay. Clemson did not have its first at-bat with a runner in scoring position until Ty Dalley came up with Lichtenberger and Jason Fultz on first and second with one out.
