MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — Dane Moehler is getting set to make his second career start for Clemson.
After the Tigers’ 3-1 win at College of Charleston on Tuesday, Erik Bakich announced that Moehler will serve as the opener against The Citadel on Wednesday, while freshman Eston Simpson will follow. Simpson has made three midweek starts this season.
“Dane Moehler is going to be the opener and Eston Simpson will be behind him,” Bakich said after the win over CofC.
Moehler made his collegiate debut in a start against LaSalle on March 7. With the right-hander coming back from an elbow injury sustained about a week before the start of the 2025 season, he went just one inning, pitching to four batters.
