Only two MLS teams chose to utilize the MLS Waiver draft. The Colorado Rapids were one of them, as they selected Kip Colvey in this afternoon’s draft to be a part of the 2018 team. Colvey, a defender, played in limited duty in 2017 with the San Jose Earthquakes, getting 315 minutes over 3 starts and 1 substitute appearance. He earned an assist in a match on March 15, 2017 in a win against the Portland Timbers.
The other MLS team that made a move in the Waiver Draft was Montreal Impact, who claimed former LA Galaxy goalkeeper Clement Diop.
