It’s been a slow start to the offseason for Columbus Crew SC with notable players leaving and only a few lower key signings coming in. The injury to Gaston Sauro and the departures of Michael Parkhurst and Steve Clark has left significant holes in the lineup, but now there is something to get Black and Gold faithful excited and it comes straight from the top. The owner himself is ready to bring in a top player.
This gives Crew SC fans a week to guess about where the team is adding firepower. With the team short at the back, head coach Gregg Berhalter could look to add along the backline with a Designated Player center back.
