This starts a busy week for Columbus Crew SC with three games in eight days, including some long travel time. Before Columbus takes on Portland and Colorado, Crew SC has to travel to the current Western Conference leaders, FC Dallas.
The Black & Gold have steadied themselves after a rough late summer on the road. The win over NYCFC shows what the offense can do with Justin Meram rounding into form with Federico Higuain, Pedro Santos, and Gyasi Zardes. Unfortunately, head coach Gregg Berhalter likely won’t be able to play his first choice 11 with Zardes, Wil Trapp, and Zack Steffen busy playing two games over the international break and the busy schedule.
