Florida team managers forgot to pack Xaivian Lee’s jersey for the Gators’ visit to Vanderbilt.
But UF’s struggling shooting guard found his game to help deliver a 98-94 win against the No. 10 Commodores and finish on the road, where Todd Golden’s Gators have come up short late in games.
Lee’s 3-pointer with 45 seconds gave No. 19 Florida (13-5, 4-1 SEC) a 95-94 lead and proved the difference in the Gators’ first win since 1968 against a ranked Vanderbilt team in Nashville, Tennessee.
A turnover by Commodores (16-2, 3-2) on the next possession ended with a Vanderbilt foul of Lee.
