Florida State latest transfer QB adds much needed depth and experience for 2026

Florida State added a second transfer quarterback on Friday when Lafayette’s Dean DeNobile committed to the Noles. Some FSU fans are likely wondering why FSU made such a move. The most likely reason is they need depth and experience, especially since incoming four-star QB Jaden O’Neal suffered an injury that will cause him to miss the 2026 season.

DeNobile has three years of starting experience at the NCAA FCS Division I level in the Patriot League. He’s a career 65 percent passer and averaged 211 passing yards per game last season. He’s not much of a threat on the ground, but that’s not that big of a deal if he’s completing passes at that rate.
