The Australian superstar tightened his stranglehold on the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight crown when he put away Chan Sung Jung with punches in the fourth round of their UFC 273 headliner on April 9, 2022 at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Volkanovski drew the curtain 45 seconds into Round 4.
Jung filled in for an injured Max Holloway and proceeded to absorb a sustained beating for 15-plus minutes. Volkanovski was superior in all phases, executed takedowns in each of the first three rounds and outstruck “The Korean Zombie” by wide margins.
