Calgary Flames GM Brad Treliving sidelined Bill Peters due to the ongoing investigation into allegations of racism and abuse against him. Assistant coach Geoff Ward, who used to work for the New Jersey Devils, will be behind the bench for tonight’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Ward has coached hockey in varying capacities since the early 90s, including 11 plus years as an assistant coach at the NHL level. He earned a Cup ring in 2011 with the Boston Bruins as an assistant coach to former Devils head coach Claude Julien.
