The New Jersey Devils participated in the 2019 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, New York. They along with the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, and Pittsburgh Penguins played in the round-robin and all four teams saw stretches of good hockey and some not so good hockey. The Devils are a loaded system at the top of their farm and there are some guys who are ready to take the next step.
The team had a big offseason after winning the Draft Lottery. They made the number one overall pick, traded for P.K. Subban a day later, signed Wayne Simmonds in free agency, and traded for KHL superstar Nikita Gusev.
