There is a chance that the New Jersey Devils are good enough to compete in the Metropolitan Division this season. It looks like it is better than the Atlantic division as far as teams from top to bottom, but they aren’t as top-heavy. The Atlantic has three teams that are significantly better than everyone else whereas the Metro has eight teams who could surprise us with a deep playoff run.
The Devils are always looking to be a better team and the most important division to play well against is the Metro because those are the most frequent matchups.
