Sophomore Nick Sloff broke the men's 3000-meter record at the Penn Elite on Saturday, running 7:48.56.
Sloff's record breaks the former record held by Robby Creese in 2015 when he ran 7:48.55.
The State College native previously held the No. 4 time in school history with a time of 7:59.33.
