With signing day looming, we are starting a four-part series looking back at SMU's last four classes.
Here a breakdown of the 2013 class:
Best player
DE Justin Lawler -- One of the lower ranked prospects in the class, Lawler has blossomed into a defensive force for the Mustangs. A two-star recruit, Lawler took a couple of years to develop, but he broke out as a redshirt sophomore with a team-high 64 tackles and nine tackles for loss. Lawler notched 65 tackles and six sacks last season.
Most surprising player
S Darrion Millines -- A former three-star recruit, Millines was ranked in the middle of the pack.
