In the final Associated Press poll of the year that was released on Tuesday, the Mustangs finished 11th. Per sports-reference.com, that is SMU's highest final ranking since a No. 4 ranking at the end of the 1957 season.
Per one ESPN column written on Tuesday, the Mustangs could be a preseason top 25 team next season. But it will depend on what happens with star forward Semi Ojeleye.
