Derrius Bell is back on the sidelines.
Bell, who played for SMU from 2007-2009, was hired by UTEP as its cornerbacks coach, the school announced this week.
Bell most recently served as the Mustangs defensive coordinator of quality control from 2013-2014.
Prior to being promoted to quality control, Bell was a graduate assistant under new UTEP and former SMU defensive coordinator Tom Mason.
