Why one-time Houston QB commit Ben Hicks flipped to SMU and stayed with Mustangs despite late push from Texas Tech

UNIVERSITY PARK -- A three-star quarterback from Waco Midway, Ben Hicks had orally committed to Houston when he visited SMU.

Turns out, the lure of being on the ground floor of Chad Morris' rebuilding project was just too enticing. Not even an 11th-hour push from Texas Tech, which lost Jarrett Stidham to Baylor, would sway Hicks.
