TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team held a lead but could not recover from a late Western Michigan surge to fall by a 4-2 decision in the series opener of a three-game series on Friday afternoon at Scott Park.
Erin Hunt (11-14) held the Broncos to just one run as the Rockets held a 2-1 lead through five innings. A three-run sixth inning, highlighted by a bases loaded single and two unearned runs, proved to be the difference for the visitors. Sophia Knight (8-9) came into the circle in the sixth and struck out three batters in relief.
