Toledo women's basketball pulls away from Kent State

After a back-breaking loss at Eastern Michigan, the University of Toledo women’s basketball has extinguished two of the Mid-American Conference’s hottest teams.

The Rockets first beat 12-5 Ohio on the road and then defeated Kent State, who was riding a four-game winning streak, 59-53 at Savage Arena on Wednesday.

“At this exact time last year, we were also 5-3 in conference,” Toledo coach Ginny Boggess said. “It just feels a little dirtier this year because of the start, but we were 5-3 right now a year ago, eight games in, and we're in the hunt right now, so we just need to keep fighting.
