Pre-dawn shooting under investigation in Hartford

Hartford police said they are investigating an early-morning shooting in the city’s Clay Arsenal neighborhood.

Officers learned of the shooting about 3 a.m., when they received a report of a male victim who arrived at Saint Francis Hospital with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, police said.

They determined the shooting happened in the area of 1654 Main St., they said. Members of the Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions were called to the scene to examine and collect evidence.

The investigation continues. Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call the department’s anonymous tip line, 860-722-8477 (TIPS).
