UNLV’s women’s tennis team clinched a tight win against Hawai’i, 4-3 on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The 64th ranked, undefeated team continued their 18 consecutive winning streak.
The Rebels set a record for the most consecutive wins for UNLV tennis.
The matchup began with doubles as Carol Zi Yang and Aiwen Zhu played against the Rainbow Wahine. Zi Yang and Zhu were up 2-1 during a long rally with their opponents, Zhu hit a clean volley to end the rally. They extended their lead 3-1 and soon closed out the set 6-2.
On court three, Iren Kotseva and Paola Artiga were in a tight match as they were only up 4-3.
