After losing 0-6 against their interstate rival, the Wolf Pack, on April 15, UNLV softball got their revenge on UNR Saturday, beating them 5-3 at home. The three-game series ended on Sunday at the Jim Rogers Field.
At the top of the first, two Wolf Pack runners held bases. Birthday girl Garie Blando, shortstop, dove for a catch, throwing to second base for a double play. The Rebels were able to get the third out with bases loaded.
First up to bat was Blando, her teammates cheering for her birthday from the dugout. She hit a single to right field.
