The newest Rebel, Kris Clyburn, said Wednesday morning he has long been a fan of UNLV’s basketball program.
He signed with UNLV the day before, the first pick-up for first-year coach Marvin Menzies.
“I liked the program in past years,” Clyburn said. “I’ve always looked up to it. I like the basketball program and the facilities.”
The 6-foot 6-inch guard from Ranger (Texas) College picked the Rebels over Houston and Texas-El Paso. He visited all three schools, and will have three seasons of eligibility at UNLV.
Clyburn was the North Texas Junior College Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year, and averaged 14.
