MTSU hammers Miners, drops UTEP to 0-9

Bret Bloomquist/El Paso Times

This is the point in an 0-9 season to start with the nice things to say, so after UTEP's never-in-it 30-3 loss to a Middle Tennessee team that surprisingly got star quarterback Brent Stockstill back, here are a few.

Tailback Joshua Fields, filling in after Quardraiz Wadley apparentely reinjured his knee, got an extended look and rushed 17 times for 87 yards.

UTEP broke an 11-quarter streak where it hadn't scored an offensive point in the second half when Jason Filley got his first career field goal in the third quarter.
