UTEP discusses Saturday's game with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Bret Bloomquist/El Paso Times
The UTEP women's basketball team faces a steep climb to avoid what on paper should be a rebuilding year.
What they did in Saturday night's 69-49 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was lay a path there. They also showed that the Kevin Baker era is taking hold.
If the team is going to be any kind of contender this season, the Miners need Najala Howell to take on a scoring role, they need Tamara Seda to be an all-conference player, they need to play good defense, they'll need to find points from all over the roster, they need backup point guard Faith Cook to be a factor and they need their only two newcomers, Jordan Alexander and Jordan Jenkins, to be players.
