Western Michigan dropped their fifth of six conference games in a tight battle with one of the MAC’s best. Akron, one of the top teams in the conference, defeated WMU 104-89 in a high-powered offensive game that featured four players with over 20 points and eight guys in double figures.
WMU was able to go on a run in the first half, and found themselves building a lead. A quick outburst led to a 45-31 lead late in the first half.
That changed quickly however, as Akron followed that up with a 19-4 run. That run put WMU down going into the break 52-51.
