CINCINNATI – Xavier baseball plated runs in each of its first five trips to the plate, hanging on late for a 15-10 win on a soggy Friday at Hayden Field.
With the win, XU improves to 26-28 overall and 13-4 in BIG EAST play. The Musketeers have now won 12 of their last 14 and clinched a fifth straight series victory.
A win on Saturday in the series finale will give Xavier a guaranteed BIG EAST regular season co-championship with Creighton. With a tie-breaker, the Musketeers would be the No. 1 overall seed in next week's tournament.
