CINCINNATI, Ohio – Despite 5.1 innings of scoreless relief, Xavier baseball dropped its rubber game against Morehead State 3-2 on Sunday at Hayden Field.
The Musketeers left a runner on in the fifth and had a potential rally defused by a sensational defensive play by Morehead State's second baseman in the eighth inning. Morehead State's closer, Tyler Keele, came in to pitch a scoreless ninth with a strikeout to earn his second save of the weekend.
The Musketeers dropped to 11-21 overall with the loss, while the Eagles improved to 19-13 with the series win.
