MADISON, Wisconsin — For Xavier basketball, the sound of revenge took the form of silence from 17,287 Wisconsin Badgers fans.
Carrying memories of a shock, upset loss in the NCAA Tournament against Wisconsin from two seasons ago, the No. 15-ranked Musketeers (3-0) achieved long-awaited redemption against the Badgers in an 80-70 win Thursday night at Kohl Center.
Trevon Bluiett went without a field goal in the first half but came on hot when his team needed him the most down the stretch of a tightly-contested game played before a typically rowdy Wisconsin crowd.
With the game tied at 66, Bluiett hit back-to-back 3-pointers to send the Badger faithful heading for the exits with less than a minute to play.
