CINCINNATI – No. 21/20 Xavier improved to 6-1 on the season after strong efforts from and to defeat No. 16 Baylor in front of a 10,503 person crowd at Cintas Center.
- Xavier jumped out to an 18-6 lead at the 14-minute mark with J.P. Macura contributing 10 of the Musketeer's first 18 points.
- Macura led the Musketeers with 17 points and four rebounds while shooting 7-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 from behind the arc.
- Kaiser Gates finished the half with nine points and went 3-for-5 from the field and 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
