Xavier men's basketball started slow in the first half against visiting Eastern Washington but dominated down the stretch and took a convincing, 46-30 lead into the break.
The No. 17 Musketeers (9-2) came out sluggish and trailed the unranked Eagles (8-3) 22-11 at one point in the half.
Led by sophomore guard Edmond Sumner's 12 points, junior guard Trevon Bluiett's 10 points and nine points on 3-pointers by sophomore forward Kaiser Gates, the Musketeers went on a 35-8 tear down the stretch for their 16-point halftime lead.
The game is Xavier's last before Big East play begins Dec.
