Xavier will take a lead into halftime again, but the real test – a test they've failed over the last two games – will be closing out a win.
The No. 13 Musketeers (7-2) took a 40-29 lead into the break against the University of Utah Runnin' Utes (6-1) Saturday at Cintas Center. Xavier dominated rebounding in the opening period, taking an 19-9 overall advantage into half.
Xavier also had seven offensive boards and scored on the majority of those.
Starting his second consecutive game for the Musketeers, senior forward RaShid Gaston shot out of the gate with nine points and 10 boards.
