No. 2 seed Xavier leads No. 7 seed Wisconsin, 33-30, at halftime in their second-round NCAA Tournament showdown in St. Louis.
The winner will face Notre Dame, a 76-75 winner Sunday against Cinderella Stephen F. Austin.
The Musketeers are playing in their sixth Big Dance in seven years and own the highest seed in program history.
Xavier (28-5) and Wisconsin (21-12) haven’t met since 2009, an NCAA Tournament second-round game the Musketeers won 60-49. Like that year, Sunday’s winner moves on to the Sweet 16.
Xavier defeated Weber State, 71-53, on Friday to reach the second round.
